(LOT #16) 1887 N29 Allen & Ginter Jas. H. Fogarty PSA 7
In 1888, Allen & Ginter
introduced a second series cataloged N29 where there were 6 different baseball players issued. The easiest way to tell the
difference between an N28 and N29 is on the front of the card, because the
second series does not have the text, "Allen & Ginter's Cigarettes Richmond
Virginia".
Here in high grade
is Jim Fogarty, Outfielder (Philadelphia). The condition of the card is
very strong. It is difficult to find any flaw with this card and in my opinion
it should grade higher. This card has outstanding graphics and pack fresh appeal.
Jim Fogarty was the
National League stolen base champion of 1889. His career statistics show
that he had a total of 325 stolen bases, and 709 hits.
